International Embassy of Chile in Spain
Chile's ambassador to Spain visited the Epysa group's Spanish operation
On 5 August, Chile’s ambassador to Spain, Juan Antonio Coloma, visited the premises of Implementos Recambios in Seseña, the Spanish operation of the Chilean group Epysa. He was received by the company’s general manager in Spain, Sebastián Molina, and by executives, with whom he toured the store, the logistics centre and the warehouses.
The figure that frames the visit is modest and concrete: three years in Spain, three stores and around 60 jobs. This is the kind of Chilean investment that never makes the headlines of the bilateral relationship but sustains it, and which the Embassy wants to make visible as part of an agenda devoted to accompanying ventures that have managed to establish themselves and grow.
The visit forms part of broader work by the mission to support Chilean companies operating in Spain and to highlight their contribution to local employment and to Chile’s international profile, according to the Embassy.
A day earlier, on 4 August, Coloma had been at Toledo City Hall, where he met deputy mayor Ignacio Velasco, who also serves as councillor for tourism, housing and relations with the University of Castilla-La Mancha. The two agendas, corporate and municipal, point to the same ground: the relationship with Spain is played out less in Madrid than is usually assumed.
