The 2026 diplomatic calendar

August 10, 2026 · Revista Diplomática

The diplomatic year does not follow the school or commercial calendar. It is moved by each country’s national day, which embassies celebrate with receptions open to authorities, the diplomatic corps and the press.

Some fixed dates that structure the agenda in Santiago:

  • February: Japan (Emperor’s birthday, 23).
  • April: Netherlands (King’s Day, 27).
  • June: Italy (2), United Kingdom (King’s birthday), Russia (12).
  • July: United States (4), France (14, Bastille).
  • August: India (15), Ecuador (10), Bolivia (6), Uruguay (25).
  • September: Brazil (7), Mexico (16), Chile (18, national holidays).
  • October: China (1), Germany (3, Unity), Spain (12, Hispanity).
  • November: Belgium (15), Poland (11).
  • December: Finland (6).

The site’s Agenda section keeps the list updated as each mission confirms place and time. The goal is simple: that no one misses the reception of the moment.
